Similar figures have a variety of small differences in what they are wearing, what they are holding and what they are near. It takes very careful listening and remembering to successfully identify the correct figure and to follow the directions about it. The listener must be attentive for both general and specific information.
All of these skills are necessary in developing a strong auditory channel for learning.
