StoryCards: Adjectives
StoryCards have been designed to help develop children's understanding of basic concepts and to promote the use of expressive language using a story form that is both appealing and motivating.
This set is the second in this popular series and contains four stories, each with an endearing central animal character (Mala the Elephant, Zak the Mouse, Saba the Zebra and Pinda the Lion Cub). Four adjectives are featured in each story and these are repeated in various situations.
The cards can also be used to consolidate other concepts such as verbs and prepositions as well as being useful for sequencing and retelling stories. StoryCards are intended for use alongside other more structured language resources in order to reinforce understanding and encourage generalisation. There are no words on the cards themselves; these are contained in the accompanying booklet, which has been translated into French, German and Spanish, making them ideal for the teaching of foreign languages.
- Covers big/little, wet/dry, full/empty, open/shut, long/short, tall/small, dirty/clean and dark/light.
- Each card is beautifully illustrated and contains a photocopiable line illustration on the reverse for colouring and for reinforcement of the concept.
- Designed to tie in with Key Stage 1 of the National Curriculum.
