Let's Verbalise Independent Speech & Language Therapy Practice
Let’s Verbalise, a company specialising in speech and language therapy in Sheffield, approached us for the installation of a sensory room to be used for relaxation and motivational communication opportunities. The organisation wanted a sensory room to accommodate their specialist needs and highlighted a few of our products which they would also like in their room such as the bubble tubes, fibre optics and mirrors, with an aim to install in early 2023.
With a few tweaks along the way to make the best room possible, Rompa® designed a sensory room with the requested products and some ideas of our own to really get the best out of the room.
Our Design
Our Sound to Sight ShowtimeTM is a great piece of equipment that encourages vocalisation, and is great for therapeutic uses and for teaching, to assist with their client’s speech and language needs. Our ‘Cost-Conscious Mobile Interactive Floor Projector’ includes hundreds of themes, images, videos, and audio that encourages their clients to communicate their feelings and emotions more easily. Let’s Verbalise wanted their room to also contain relaxation equipment, so Rompa® included the addition of calming equipment such as the Maxi Bubble Tube padded base and Fibre Optics for users to stimulate their visual senses and feel relieved.
Let’s Verbalise were very pleased with the outcome and shared a few words with us on their experiences:
What did this project bring their clients?
‘The new installation has maximised functional communication opportunities for our clients within their sessions. Clients are highly motivated to engage with all the equipment so we can focus on incorporating therapy targets into the interactions. We’re also able to share the space with friends and family of Let’s Verbalise who thoroughly enjoy spending time in such an incredible room.’
How was the Rompa® experience working with Let’s Verbalise?
‘The overall experience with Rompa has been fantastic – from the initial discussions, site visits, and phone calls with all our questions to the installation process. The installers were incredibly professional throughout the installation and made sure there was minimal disruption to our clinic and very knowledgeable about the equipment during the training.’
‘We met them at a professional conference a few years ago and have ordered resources from them before so we were confident in the quality of their products.’

Hardingstone Academy
Hardingstone Academy contacted us via a recommendation from another Multi Academy Trust in Coventry. They wanted to welcome their first Key Stage 2 ASD Provision students in January 2023 with a valuable resource at their new academy!
Included in this room are our beautiful Bubble Tubes, satisfying Vibrating Bumpas, mesmerising Multifinity Explorer Panel and UV Abstract Tactile Panel!
We were granted some lovely feedback from East Midlands Academy Trust:
"The entire design process was made easy due to the knowledge and expertise of the Rompa team; they provided sound advice and suggestions for the room's equipment and understood the needs of the children (KS2 SEND base for students with ASD)."
"The finished room was installed to a high quality and even the training and hand over was of high quality, an all-round quality end-to-end process".

'Rompa has provided us with a room that is versatile and will meet the sensory needs for people with disabilities. Our new and exciting room will provide great opportunity for people who use wheelchairs to adapt to a new environment and have the option to transfer onto mats/beanbags. People will enjoy and benefit from this new space, enhancing their physical, mental health and wellbeing.'
'It has given people choice and control of how they want to use the space, having the opportunity to use switches that change the colour of the room, this has also enable freedom and movement as well as giving them a voice to control different panels to change colour and sound.'

'I just wanted to reach out and say thank you for all the work in planning and setting up our new sensory room. We LOVE it!' - Helen Leigh, Business Manager
'The Installations Team did an amazing job with the Sensory Room, they were very clean and provided good training for the equipment. They were really patient with the children who wanted to ask questions and were very professional and pleasant to deal with.
'Just so you guys know the impact of your work, we had a 5-year-old boy the other day in the refuge. Really anxious and clingy to mum due to something very traumatic that has happened. We took him in there and his eyes lit up - he was mesmerised. You could see the anxiety melt away and he has started talking about how he felt and now knows what to do when he feels worried and that it's not his fault. It was worth every penny for that one moment and there will be hundreds more to come! Thankyou!'
'Great experience all around. Fantastic company!'

"From the conception of the idea to the installation and beyond, Rompa has been outstanding."
"We knew what we wanted but had no real idea what it would look like. Rompa were the only company from 4 invited to quote that understood our vision, they listened to what we wanted and asked the right questions, ultimately, this meant they delivered an amazing design for our sensory room and it had everything we wanted whilst also looking fantastic."
"That coupled with being the lowest priced of all four meant the other companies didn’t stand a chance."
"I would highly recommend and am pleased to say that the aftercare doesn't disappoint either."

Zach's Sensory Room
Zach's eye contact has improved vastly and he tracks the products in the sensory room with his eyes. This allows him to communicate and tell us when he wants to switch the bubbles on and off.
The snoezelen room at home has provided a safe haven for Zach. Meeting new people was very difficult for him and he would have meltdowns. Zach can now escape into this sensory room, which helps him to relax and calm down.
Zach receives a lot of feedback from the bubble tubes and vibrations that he can feel in the padded base. We drape fibre optics over him and he uses the Talking Cube by himself to interact with the room.
From the initial visit, design and installation all requirements were met. The room is a good balance between play and relaxation.
