Wooden Peg Puzzle: Butterfly

Lovely 8 piece wooden puzzle with a detailed silkscreen printed photograph of a swallowtail butterfly, outlined in black. Large pieces with wooden pegs enable those with fine motor limitations to engage with this activity.

Age appropriate for adults. Ideal for focusing on fine motor skills during rehabilitation after stroke, brain injury etc. or a great activity for people with impaired cognition and enjoy puzzles. These are also suitable for little hands and could be used for educational purposes.

We have a set of four different types: Rabbit (56913), Fish (56914), Rooster (56915) and this one, a gorgeous Butterfly. For 3yrs+, small parts. Size: 24x30x1cm.

Our range of puzzles have been chosen for their age-appropriate images and scenes, each containing a variety of images and activities that prompt reminiscence, memory recall or conversation during the activity (if completed in a group setting). They have a varying number of pieces required for completion, to make the activity easier or harder depending on ability and many have larger than normal puzzle pieces making them more enabling for those with visual impairment or fine motor limitations. Great for groups, 1-1 or individual activities.

Doing jigsaw puzzles requires co-ordination of a range of skills including attention, concentration, hand eye co-ordination, visual, cognitive, fine motor etc. Participation in this type of activity therefore is an ideal way of encouraging maintaining or improving these skills.
